Reunions and Sailboating

Our journey began Tuesday Dec 1 at midnight and we arrived in Sydney on Thursday Dec 3rd at 930am. It was a joyous reunion with Kimberlee and Ethan. Thurston and Atticus are beautiful boys. Before we even got to Kim's house, we stopped and ate at Happy Jacks, which is Australia's Burger King. It is also the only fast food restaurant that gives free refills on sodas! My medium soda looked like a kids meal size! That afternoon we went made a meal plan and went grocery shopping. We filled the refrigerator and cupboards! For dinner that night we had take out Indian food. Indian food is to Sydney as Mexican food is to Arizona. There are restaurants on every corner and it is delicious.

Friday December 4th: Waiting for Kiersten and Heath to arrive from Brisbane. They won't arrive until that evening so we go shopping at the mall. It is 4 levels and has every kind of store you can imagine including a nice selection of culturally diverse stores. It even has a large grocery store and drug store! Codeine is sold over the counter. I love surfing the various food stores that cater to the culturally diverse population. The bakeries are plentiful and delicious. Later I give Atticus my traditional "First Bath" by grandma. When Kiersten and Heath finally arrive, David can't wait to give them their big Christmas gift.

Saturday December 5th: The Krok family has arranged a private sailboat for all of us to sail the Sydney Harbour today. We arrive early to take pictures with the Opera House and Harbour bridge. The weather is beautiful. It is a little cool on the water. The babies are happy and enjoying the attention. I am clutching my Dramamine pills and saying a silent prayer that they work. I do not have a good track record with boats and the ocean. We have a light lunch prepared for us before we board. The three hour tour was absolutely fantastic! We count this as one of the highlights of our trip. My trip is nausea free, a tender mercy.

Sunday December 6th: Today Atticus is blessed by his father in Sacrament Meeting. Both grandfathers and all brother in laws assist in this special experience. Afterwards we have a luncheon served by Ann Krok. 67 people attended!! This is the day that we have come to Australia for. Our beautiful Atticus has brought us together.

Wow, that brought tears to my eyes. I can imagine how happy you are to be reunited with your two girls and their families. Thanks so much for sharing through pictures and words this long awaited reunion. You have the look of a very satisfied wife, mom and grandma (or was that seasickness!).
